This is a fantastic Persian Qashquli, Hand-knotted by the nomadic Qashqai tribes of southern Iran, on horizontal looms, using hand-spun wool from their own herds of sheep. Dyes are made from indigenous plants, roots, berries, tree-bark & nut-shells. This piece has a traditional tribal design woven from memory and passed down through many generations.
This is a really good example of how a fine tribal rug should look.
