Rugs of the world : York minster rugs

Supplier of rugs to York minster

York Minster is the second largest Gothic cathedral of Northern Europe and clearly charts the development of English Gothic architecture from Early English through to the Perpendicular Period. The present building was begun in about 1230 and completed in 1472. It has a cruciform plan with an octagonal chapter house attached to the north transept, a central tower and two towers at the west front. The stone used for the building is magnesian   limestone, a creamy-white coloured rock that was quarried in nearby Tadcaster. The Minster is 158 metres (518 ft) long and each of its three towers are 60 metres (200 ft) high. The choir, which has an interior height of 31 metres (102 ft), is only surpassed in height in England by the choir of Westminster Abbey.

Anyhoe Park.

Aynhoe Park

Rugs of the worlds Ltd have supplied this fantastic House

Aynhoe Park is a property that has been remodelled and altered throughout its history, first by Thomas Archer in the early 1700s and then by Sir John Soane a century later. Since then there have been several major changes in the life of the house. James Perkins bought the house in 2004 and has worked since then to transform Aynhoe back into a family home.

The house has a close connection with Sir John Soane, having been extensively remodelled by him. The spirit of the great man lives on with the current owner enjoying a close relationship with the Sir John Soane Museum in London. He also shares Soane’s passion for plaster casts and owns the largest private collection in the world. Aynhoe Park is a wonderful backdrop for displaying these

This rug was used for a major high street fashion brand.

This brand wanted a really old rustic feel to some of the images, and this old Persian piece was chosen for its relaxed colouration and worn look

These Killim rugs were used during a live recording session.

We were asked to create a cultured tribal look for these sessions.
