This is a Persian Qashqai. The QASHQAI are the second largest Turkic group (numbering about 250,000 people) in IRAN. They are a confederation of several Turkic-speaking tribe. The QASHQAI are pastoral nomads who move with their herds of sheep and goats between summer pastures in the higher elevations of the zagros south of Shiraz. This piece dates back about 60 years. The condition is very good, no marks or low pile, the colour is a soft red. A clean piece.
